Volkhart was trained as a lawyer in Germany. He is admitted to the bars of Hamburg, as well as Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in Brazil. To date he is the only German lawyer also admitted as a Brazilian Intellectual property attorney.

Volkhart has more than 20 years’ experience in Intellectual Property, Industrial Property, International Civil Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He has worked as an attorney in several law and patent attorney firms in Germany and Brazil, and also as a freelance attorney and legal translator.

He is an arbitrator with the Centers for Dispute Resolution of the Brazilian Industrial Property Association (CSD-ABPI) and the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF). Currently, he serves pro bono as Legal Counsel for the Hospital Alemão do Amparo, founded by the German colony of Rio de Janeiro.

Volkhart specializes in all Industrial Property matters, including litigation and piracy prosecution. He is fluent in English, German, Portuguese and Spanish.
